IMG_3599 Date: 12/29/2008 Ready to go!
IMG_3601 Date: 12/29/2008 The train went through many tunnels and around many bends, so you could get some great shots of the end of the train following behind you.

IMG_3656 Date: 12/29/2008 You know you are somewhere different when a sign says: "Wallaby food!" We were just glad they were tame, walking around freely, and that we weren't what the sign meant! :)
IMG_3658 Date: 12/29/2008 Can you see the joey in the momma's pouch?
IMG_3660 Date: 12/29/2008 See the joey's legs hanging out....
IMG_3665 Date: 12/29/2008 We learned a lot about crocodiles! Apparently salt-water crocs are larger than fresh-water crocs.
IMG_3667 Date: 12/29/2008 Yup, right next to it! She was pretty happy about that.
IMG_3668 Date: 12/29/2008 Now we are on the SkyRail going back across the Kuranda Rainforest toward Cairns again.
IMG_3669 Date: 12/29/2008 The kids loved the SkyRail, and it was a much cooler temperature than the train ride up the mountain.

IMG_3718 Date: 12/31/2008 Our first stop on the Reef was Green Island, where you could stop and be refreshed with snacks, a quick swim in the pool, and a peek at an underwater observatory, where Nemo is known to hang out.

IMG_3757 Date: 12/31/2008
IMG_3758 Date: 12/31/2008 A little cage where kids were safe from big aquatic life and able to stand safely until they had the courage to swim. We were operating our dives and snorkelling from a pontoon in the middle of the GBR, where we were able to stay for 3 hours before the 90-minute return trip to the harbor.

IMG_3798 Date: 01/01/2009 We found a fun playground down on the Esplanade in Cairns on our last day. It stretches for over a block and features some fun water sprinklers.

IMG_4021 Date: 01/10/2009 This was actually taken at our last apartment on the way back through Cairns briefly on the way back to Kwaj (after our time in Sydney). You can see how very tropical Cairns is by the amazing foliage.
